SKELETON WITCH

So this show kind of caught me by surprise. Two awesome thrash bands playing the Borg Ward in Milwaukee on a monday night for just a few bucks. Toxic Holocaust and Skeleton Witch, both bands on tour with Municipal Waste, who weren't at the show because apparently they are rock star pussies who don't play on Monday nights. Who needs them anyway? We've got Skeleton Witch from Ohio, and goddamn, do they ever kick ass. I was seriously non-stop thrashing to their unique mix of about twelve different flavors of metal. They're nice guys, too. I picked up there CD and it is definately one of my favourite albums yet this year, very diverse musically, yet total metal throughout, with awesome melodic guitar leads and great thrashing drumming. The singer is good, but I could use a little more singing and a little less screaming for my taste. I guess I'm worn out by 95% of the bands I listen to only screaming, yelling, growling, screeching, barfing, etc. and then I hear awesome power metal with great singing vocals, and I want to hear it in more music. So sue me. Anyway be sure to catch Skeleton Witch next time they play your town. Totally kick ass. I feel privileged to have been able to basically see their whole set and thrash out with them, right up in their faces without a stupid stage in the way.
